- When the Halo smart microchip scanner is used with Scanner Angel® software, the microchip numbers of missing animals from a number of databases are downloaded into the Halo. If the Halo then scans one of those missing animals, the Halo will immediately alert the user that the animal has been reported missing.
- The Halo scanner can identify a pet that is lost or stolen immediately it is scanned. Each time the Halo is recharged via a computer it downloads a list of microchip numbers from Scanner Angel of lost or stolen pets from participating databases through the Halo application.
